Phenomenon and Master Throat Singer Batzorig Vaanchig on Tour in Europe

European Solo Tour: 16 April – 10 May 2026

About Batzorig Vaanchig

Batzorig Vaanchig (1977) is one of Mongolia’s most respected musicians. A master of the morin khuur (horse-head fiddle) and Mongolian throat singing (khöömii), he has performed across the globe – from the main stage of the United Nations in New York to leading festivals in Asia, Europe, North and South America.

Known worldwide as the viral voice of Mongolian music, Batzorig has captivated millions of listeners with his powerful performances. His videos have been viewed hundreds of millions of times, he has hundreds of thousands of loyal followers on social media, and his music is streamed more than 100,000 times every month. His rendition of Chinggis Khaanii Magtaal (Praise Song for Genghis Khan) alone has been viewed over 60 million times. For many around the world, he is the face and the sound of Mongolian throat singing and traditional music.

Batzorig also composed music for the Netflix series Marco Polo, including the enchanting piece “The Beautiful Steppe”, which brought his music to a global audience of millions.

In addition to his solo work, he is co-founder of the internationally acclaimed ethnic band Khusugtun, with whom he gained international recognition. He plays several traditional Mongolian instruments, including the morin khuur, tovshuur, tsuur, and jaw harp. His many awards include Mongolia’s highest state honor, the Order of the Polar Star.

First Solo Tour in Europe

In spring 2026, Batzorig will present his first solo European tour. The program will include concerts as well as workshops where participants can immerse themselves in throat singing, the morin khuur, and Mongolian folk songs. Each workshop will be complemented with traditional drinks, food, and hospitality, offering visitors a complete cultural experience.

A Historic Cultural Moment

With his unmatched online reach and international reputation, Batzorig Vaanchig is the most important ambassador of Mongolian throat singing of his generation. His first solo European tour is therefore a unique opportunity for venues, festivals, and cultural organizations to host a world star of traditional music and introduce their audiences to one of the most extraordinary musical traditions in the world.

Organized by Altai Yurt & Partners

The tour is organized by Altai Yurt (Netherlands), a cultural center founded by Rowan Hartsuiker and Saran Myagmarsuren, in collaboration with Henosis (Switzerland) and international partners Johanni Curtet (France) and Sauli Heikkilä (Finland). This team has extensive experience presenting Mongolian and Central Asian music to European audiences.
